2024 Writer's Discovery Fellow (Circle Management + Production & Anarchists United)

[Honored. Anxious. Excited.]

I’m honored by this selection and by the incredible opportunity to work with Circle Management and Production & Anarchists United over the next 6 months.

I wrote a thoughtful reflection on my Instagram. The lengthy post likely undermines my aspirations as a pithy comedy writer. But also, I was chosen for my 1/2 hour dark comedy, REAPER, INC., which just keeps reaping recognition [ha. ha. ha.], so maybe there’s still some hope for me yet.

Eschewing the insecurities for a second, I want to sit in this moment. Being a screenwriter is a test of insanity. Wins are elusive. All you can do is love the grind. Enjoy the mind-numbing task of sitting alone in front of a blank page and putting words on it. [Ideally in a coherent order, but if not, that’s what D2-D100 are for.]

That’s it. That’s the job. Over and over again.

Today, I’ll celebrate the win.

But tomorrow, the real work begins.
